BURNING ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
Those with a current burn permit in John Day and John Day Rural Fire Districts may begin burning in burn barrels and piles smaller than 6ftX6ft starting September 26th. (See official statement below)

In an effort to stay in line with the Oregon Department of Forestry’s fire regulations, the Grant County Fire Defense District will go out of fire season September 26th at 12:01 a.m. Burning may be allowed in barrels and small piles; always check with your local jurisdiction for permits and further information on restrictions for your area.
