Boards and Commissions

​John Day is served by several boards and commissions. Appointments to a commission are typically made by the City Council. Terms vary by office.

We are currently seeking candidates to serve on the Budget Committee and candidates to serve on the Planning Commission.

If interested in volunteering, please submit the application below to cityofjohnday@grantcounty-or.gov; appointments are typically made after the New Year.

Current openings include:

The Budget Committee - Meets 2 to 4 times yearly, beginning in March or April, concluding in May or June (yearly process varies)

Planning Commission - Meets 2 to 6 times yearly to review land use changes as needed

City Council - One appointed position is available
