A burn ban was implemented by the Grant County Commission, effective Tuesday, October 1.
Burning hours
Burning is allowed from daylight to dark with a valid permit.
Yard debris burning
In the Rural District, you can burn yard debris from March 1 through June 15 and October 1 through December 15. The Oregon Department of Forestry determines if burning is recommended between October 1 and June 15.
Mowing
You can mow or cut dried grass all day during low fire danger, before 1 PM and after 8 PM during moderate fire danger, and before 10 AM and after 8 PM during high fire danger. Mowing is prohibited during extreme fire danger.
Campfires
You should only build campfires in the existing fire ring in your campsite. You should keep plenty of water on hand to put out the campfire.
